This textile wall art is an extension of my
wearable-art fashion designs. My fabric scraps
create these unique kimono-type figures.
This is taken into another art form from my
one-of-a-kind, signature, contemporary,
art-wear kimono jackets I make and that
I am known for.
The scraps from my jackets then become the banding for the kimono in the wall art.
Part of my concept is to reclaim as much
of my fabrics & scraps as I can & to make
all my art pieces here in Colorado.

WATER
- How the textures, the colors, the shapes, the forms & the feel will be placed ends up complimenting each other to create this finished piece.
How the surged scrap pieces from my fabric lie on the floor is transferred to the image of the hair or the banding or the way it encloses the kimono archetype figure.
The piece evolves to how the different fabric shapes all just end up fitting and working together.
From there the viewer can experience the abstract visual and tactile feel of water.

You can feel the strong sense of the warmth & heat of what one would feel from a fire.
I liked the way the surged pieces from the scraps of my fabric lie on the floor. I used that for the representation of the hair. I like the way it encloses the kimono archetype figure.
The process starts with how the different fabric pieces all just seem to fit together. From there I show how they can show the basic elements of life.
I like for the viewer to see what they will view. Everyone will see something different.

Again, with the colors, textures & shapes this piece projects the feel of being calm, centered & balanced.
